Our People

Mike R. – Lead Technician

Mike has spent 14 years working on residential HVAC systems, the last six of them in Fresno. He’s the guy we send when a compressor is short-cycling or a heat pump won’t switch over in the spring. Mike holds his EPA 608 certification and has factory training on Carrier and Trane equipment, but he’s just as comfortable inside a 20-year-old Goodman. He’s the one who figured out that a rattling air handler in a Tower District bungalow was actually a failing blower wheel bearing, not the return duct, which saved that homeowner a lot of money. When Mike isn’t tracing refrigerant lines, he’s rebuilding a 1978 Honda CB750 in his garage. Slowly, as he puts it.

Elena S. – Senior Installer

Elena leads our installation crew and has been setting residential equipment since 2009. She started as a helper on a commercial rooftop crew, then moved into residential because she wanted to work directly with homeowners. Elena is NATE-certified and specializes in tight attic and crawlspace installs, which is exactly what half the homes in older Fresno neighborhoods demand. She’s methodical about duct transitions and will spend an extra hour making sure the plenum is sealed right rather than leave a leak that costs you 15 percent in efficiency. On weekends, she runs a small garden out by Woodward Park and claims Fresno tomatoes are the only good thing about the heat. Fair point.

Danny P. – Service Coordinator

Jaylen T. – Apprentice Technician

Jaylen joined Brandt HVAC Co Fresno two years ago through a local trade program and has earned his way onto every type of call we run. He works alongside Mike and Elena, handling diagnostics support, filter swaps, drain-line cleanouts, and the first round of electrical checks. Jaylen is working toward his EPA certification and spends most evenings studying wiring diagrams and refrigerant principles. He’s sharp and careful, the kind of person who labels every wire before he disconnects anything. Jaylen grew up in southeast Fresno and picked HVAC because he wanted a trade that would keep him in the Central Valley, close to his family. He’s also the only one on the crew who can consistently beat Danny at chess.
